Okay, this week has not been the best and brightest. We've done several really fun activities - such as going to the local Petco to explore fish, turtles, and other marine animals - but we've also had very little time for some of our more structured things. Reading is going well. We always read for 20-30 minutes every night before bed. And Art is easy because my kids love to color, but social sciences and math are slow going.
I keep reminding myself it is exposure and experience that really count at this age, not so much the structured stuff. As stressful as it has been at times to be solely responsible for two kids most days - even in the academic realm - it is also really rewarding. Each day they do something new and exciting, and I am reminded of why I make these sacrifices of time and energy.
